Hoboken's Parks & Events

Parks & Recreation

Hoboken is blessed by offering it residents so many parks and opportunities to be outside. Here are some of our favorites.

Hoboken Parks

After a recent visit to a city in a neighboring state, I realized how lucky we are in Hoboken to have so many parks. Every couple of blocks, there is a beautiful park or public pier. The city also has plans to build more parks in the future. In addition to the parks/green space, Hoboken has a beautiful river front path/walkway.

While many improvements have been made to the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, there are more plans for expansion. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway is a state-mandated master plan to connect the Bayonne Bridge to the George Washington Bridge creating an 18-mile long continuous park with access to the waterfront.

Hoboken Events

Something I love about Hoboken is there always seems to be a great event or activity happening around town. In the summer, there are activities and events almost daily. The town sends out a schedule of events for the entire summer including the schedule for the Movies Under the Stars held on Pier A, Children’s Performers in the Shipyard, Concerts in Church Square Park, Theater, Fitness and more. In addition, Hoboken has many annual events such as the Frank Sinatra Idol Contest, Hoboken House Tour, Hoboken International Film Festival, Hoboken Artist Studio Tour, Hoboken Arts and Music Festival, Hoboken (Secret) Garden Tour. The Hoboken Farmer’s Market (June through October). There are also numerous festivals such as the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, Feast of Saint Anthony’s, Saint Ann’s Feast and the Hoboken Italian Festival.
